Beyderesi Valley

The valley, known as “Vrathes” meaning “rocky place” in Greek during the Ottoman period, is known as Beyderesi today. The valley is located very close to the center of Mustafapaşa, approximately 1 km north of the village. On the eastern slope of the valley, there is the Church of St. Basil, one of the most important churches of Mustafaşa built and painted during the Ottoman period. In addition, the valley contains interesting fairy chimneys with a unique form, many shelters carved into the rocks, and rock tombs from the Roman period.
