The Old Hotel Natura

According to the inscription on the entrance door, the mansion, which appears to have been built in 1885, was first owned by Hacı Yosuf Yoğan/İosif İoannis. Previously used as a residence, the building now serves as a hotel. It is best known today as the Natura Hotel, having operated under that name for many years. The building is two-story and rectangular in plan.

Constructed using the masonry technique, the mansion’s walls are made of stone, while the doors, ceilings, and windows are made of wood. The entrance door is located on the southwest facade. Entry is through a double-winged, arched wooden doorway leading to an open courtyard. Behind this courtyard, to the northeast, is a large garden area. The entrance door features a circular inscription with the date April 1888 and a single line of Greek text.

The entrance door to the upper floor bears the date April 16, 1885, the name of the mansion’s owner, and a depiction of a double-headed eagle. Above this door is a round skylight, and above that is a landing. On the ground floor, a chapel is located at the entrance to the hall on the north side. In another room on this floor, a secret passage through a wooden cupboard leads to the infirmary section in the basement. In a niche within a room on the upper floor of the house, there is a wall painting with a woman and child figure at the center of the composition.
